Definition
A computer is a programmable electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the results of these procedures, all under the control of software. Mainframes, desktop and laptops, tablets and smartphones are a few of different types of personal computers. An electronic machine which assists with solving problems quickly and easily. It solves problems regarding to instructions directed at it by the computer customer called programs or software. It is a digital machine(that uses binary digits) found in all field

Automation
Most humans have trouble with math. To show this, try doing 584 x 3,220 in your head. It really is hard to remember all the steps! People made tools to help them keep in mind where these were in a math problem. The other problem folks have is that they need to do the same problem again and again and once more. A cashier had to make change every day in her head or with a piece of paper. That required lots of time and made flaws. So, people made calculators that performed those same things again and again. This part of computer history is called the "history of robotic calculation," which is a fancy term for "the history of machines that make it easy for me to get this done same maths problem over and over without making flaws."The abacus, the slide rule, the astrolabe and the Antikythera mechanism (which schedules from about 150-100 BC) are examples of automated calculation machines.

Programming
People do not want a machine that could do the same thing again and again. For instance, a music box is a machine that takes on the same music over and over again. Some people wanted to be able to inform their machine to do various things. For example, they wished to notify the music package to play different music each and every time. They wanted to have the ability to program the music pack- to order the music field to learn different music. This part of computer record is called the "history of programmable machines" which is a fancy key phrase for "The annals of machines that I could order to do different things if I know how to speak their terms."One of the first examples of this was built by Hero of Alexandria (c. 10-70 AD). He built a mechanical theater which performed a play lasting ten minutes and was run by a sophisticated system of ropes and drums. These ropes and drums were the dialect of the machine- they advised what the device did so when. Some people claim that this is the first programmable machine.Historians disagree which early on machines are "computer systems". Many say the "castle clock", an astronomical clock invented by Al-Jazari in 1206, is the first known programmable analog computer. The distance of night and day could be fine-tuned every day in order to take into account the changing lengths of day and night throughout the year. Some count this daily adjustment as education.Others say the first computer was made by Charles Babbage. Ada Lovelace is considered to be the first programmer.

The Processing Era
By the end of the Middle Age ranges, people in Europe thought mathematics and anatomist were more important. In 1623, Wilhelm Schickard made a mechanical calculator. Other Europeans made more calculators after him. These were not modern personal computers because they could only add, subtract, and multiply- you could not change what they do to make them do something like play Tetris. As a result of this, we say they were not programmable. Now designers use computers to create and plan.In 1801, Joseph Marie Jacquard used punched paper cards to inform his textile loom the type of routine to weave. He might use punch cards to see the loom how to proceed, and he could change the punch cards, this means he could program the loom to weave the pattern he wanted. This means the loom was programmable.Charles Babbage wanted to make a similar machine that could analyze. He called it "The Analytical Engine".[8] Because Babbage didn't can pay for and always modified his design when he had a better idea, he never built his Analytical Engine. As time went on, pcs were used more. People get uninterested easily doing a similar thing again and again. Imagine spending your daily life writing things down on index credit cards, stocking them, and then having to go see them again. The U.S. Census Bureau in 1890 experienced hundreds of people doing that. It had been expensive, and reports took a long time. Then an engineer worked out how to make machines execute a lot of the task. Herman Hollerith invented a tabulating machine that would automatically accumulate information that the Census bureau accumulated. The Processing Tabulating Recording Organization (which later became IBM) made his machines. They leased the machines rather than selling them. Manufacturers of machines possessed long helped their users understand and repair them, and CTR's technical support was especially good.Due to machines such as this, new means of speaking with these machines were invented, and new types of machines were developed, and eventually the computer as we know it was born.

Analog and Digital Computers
Inside the first 50 percent of the 20th hundred years, scientists started using computers, mostly because scientists possessed a whole lot of math to figure out and wanted to spend more of their time thinking about technology questions rather than spending hours adding numbers jointly. For example, if they had to unveiling a rocket dispatch, they needed to do a great deal of math to ensure the rocket did the trick right. So they come up with personal computers. These analog personal computers used analog circuits, which made them very difficult to program. In the 1930s, they invented digital computers, and soon made them easier to program. However this is false as many consecutive efforts have been designed to bring arithmetic logic to l3.Analogue computer systems are mechanical or gadgets which solve problems. some are used to regulate machines.
