Automation
Most humans have trouble with math. To show this, try doing 584 x 3,220 in your mind. It is hard to keep in mind all the steps! People made tools to help them keep in mind where they were in a mathematics problem. The other problem people have is that they have to do the same problem again and again and once more. A cashier was required to make change every day in her brain or with a piece of paper. That needed lots of time and made faults. So, people made calculators that have those same things over and over. This part of computer record is called the "history of automatic calculation," which really is a fancy phrase for "the history of machines that make it possible for me to do this same maths problem again and again without making faults."The abacus, the slide guideline, the astrolabe and the Antikythera mechanism (which times from about 150-100 BC) are examples of automated computation machines.

Programming
People do not want a machine that could do a similar thing again and again. For instance, a music box is a machine that plays the same music over and over again. Some people wanted to be able to tell their machine to do various things. For instance, they wanted to tell the music container that can be played different music each and every time. They wished to have the ability to program the music field- to order the music field to play different music. The Computing Era
At the end of the Middle Age ranges, people in Europe thought mathematics and anatomist were more important. In 1623, Wilhelm Schickard made a mechanised calculator. He could use punch cards to share with the loom how to proceed, and he could change the punch credit cards, which means he could program the loom to weave the structure he wanted. This means the loom was programmable.Charles Babbage wished to make an identical machine that can estimate. He called it "The Analytical Engine".[8] Because Babbage didn't have enough money and always changed his design when he had a much better idea, he never built his Analytical Engine unit.As time went on, personal computers were used more. People get uninterested easily doing a similar thing over and over. Imagine spending your daily life writng down things on index credit cards, keeping them, and then having to go find them again. The U.S. Census Bureau in 1890 had hundreds of men and women doing that. It was expensive, and accounts took a long time. Then an engineer worked out steps to make machines do a lot of the task. Herman Hollerith created a tabulating machine that could automatically add up information that the Census bureau gathered. The Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation (which later became IBM) made his machines. They leased the machines instead of selling them. Designers of machines got long helped their users understand and repair them, and CTR's technical support was especially good.Due to machines such as this, new means of talking to these machines were developed, and new types of machines were developed, and finally the computer as we realize it was born.

Analog and Digital Computers
In the first 50 % of the 20th hundred years, scientists began using computers, usually because scientists had a lot of math to determine and wanted to spend more of their time thinking about science questions rather than expending hours adding numbers collectively. For example, if indeed they had to kick off a rocket ship, they needed to do a lot of math to ensure the rocket functioned right. So they put together personal computers.
